About the event
Electrocardiograghic (ECG) interpretation is one of the essential skills that a health care provider should possess, especially those who are working at critical care areas, emergency rooms, health centers and industrial clinics. This knowledge can help in the early recognition of arrhythmias for early management and prevention of complications. The course addresses arrhythmia recognition and 12 leads ECG interpretation.
This course will enable the participants to identify different arrhythmias originating at various sites within the cardiac cells or conduction pathways.
In addition, the participants will practice 12 leads ECG interpretation to identify ischemic changes, electrolytes and drug effects.
Course Objectives:
Upon successful completion of the course requirements, the participants should be able to:
Correlate between the cardiac cycle and the electrical activity of the heart (ECG wave form)
Identify the common arrhythmias
Interpret 12 leads ECG changes
Discuss their significance, management, and possible complications
Course Content:
Revision of the cardiac anatomy and physiology
ECG waveforms and their significance
Arrhythmia recognition:
Sinus arrhythmias
Atrial arrhythmias
Junctional arrhythmias
Ventricular arrhythmias
Heart block (1st, 2nd and 3rd degree)
12 leads ECG interpretation
Ischemic Changes
Electrolytes and drugs effects on ECG
Clinical significance of the arrhythmias and their possible complications
Arrhythmias management
Pharmacological
Non-pharmacological
